Business mentoring
Experienced business judgement when you need someone to think things through with.
A structured thinking partnership for owners and managers facing decisions, uncertainty or a problem that is still taking shape.
Sometimes the first problem is finding the real problem
You may have a decision to make, a concern that keeps returning or several connected issues that refuse to fit into one neat brief. Sometimes the most valuable question is about the thing you weren’t planning to discuss.
Mentoring gives you a regular, confidential place to examine the decisions and concerns in front of you with someone who brings management, financial, consulting and entrepreneurial experience—but does not have to defend yesterday’s internal answer. That outside perspective can help you see the real choice, test your assumptions and decide what deserves action.
One commitment, beginning with orientation
The engagement begins with a structured Initial Orientation and continues for three months as one prepaid package. The orientation establishes what you want to be different, the context around it, the people and constraints that matter, and how our conversations can be most useful.
Each discussion is framed in advance so we can use the time well, while leaving room for the issue that becomes important once we start talking. Reasonable brief contact between scheduled discussions is part of the mentoring service, helping us maintain continuity and keep track of what is developing.
If you find the relationship useful and we both wish to continue, we can agree another mentoring period. Continuation is a new mutual agreement, not an automatic renewal.
Balete Works operates from UTC+8 and arranges suitable meeting times across regions by agreement.
What belongs within mentoring
If we can work through it together using what we reasonably know, it belongs within mentoring. If it requires analysis, research, preparation or other substantive work outside our conversations, we agree a separate scope and investment before I proceed.
What would you like to understand, decide or handle differently?
That question anchors the mentoring relationship as we work through the matters that need your attention.
The answer can develop as your understanding develops. The purpose is not to force three months into a rigid syllabus. It is to keep the conversations connected to something that matters in the business and in your own work as a leader.
If a separate assignment emerges
We start with what you want to be different when the work is finished. From there, we determine what can realistically be accomplished, what the work should cover, and the investment before we begin.
The first discussion is free. Short framing questions may follow when we arrange it, so our first conversation can start somewhere useful without making contact feel like an application form.
